I was rummaging through the Samsung SW Update database and came across the NP940Z5L-S01UK. So is Samsung contemplating returning to the European notebook market? Unfortunately, Google finds no mention of this version of the Z5L and SW Update doesn't list any recent notebooks for other European countries (Germany appeared to be their biggest European market). So I suspect that Z5L (like the X5J) won't officially make it to shelves in the UK.

is there a website/ftp/directory, where you can browse updates online without installing the sw update (which is totally unreliable, constantly aborts downloads)?
i also couldnt find them on the samsung page... how stupid is that.

Having a software package which goes direct to a database makes a lot of sense as it saves having to maintain a lot of web pages in different languages. Both options may only offer the most recent versions when users often want previous versions when bugs are encountered.

Make sure that you have the most recent version of Samsung Update but also check for better / worse times of day.

meanwhile i had 3 different np900x5l because i specifically bought a used one with a nvme samsung.
then i realised in each one i could install a nvme ssd.
so the model was build with support from the beginning, but was shipped only with a slow sata ssd.
funny, that i never red this anywhere, so everybody simply didnt knew about this (also no mention here in the forum).
no idea why samsung didnt advertise this..

(btw, if anyone wants to buy one in europe, drop me a pn)
