Hi! I am using a Samsung NP300E4A-S03PH laptop in Windows 8.1
Two weeks ago, I was using my laptop on battery mode and after a few minutes it just went off. I tried turning it on (in battery mode) but it won't open.
I tried plugging the charger then tried to turn it on and it turned on. If I remove the plug it will turn of again, it's like my battery isn't recognized.
In the task bar? it says "63% available (plugged in, not charging)". I tried the steps I saw in the internet, the one uninstalling something in the Device Manager" and shutdown and restart again but it is still not charging.
The AC/DC? Light indicator (to notify if on ac, charging, something like that) is blinking yellow and orange.
It my battery broken already? What should I do?![]()

How old is the computer? If it is more than about two years then it is plausible that the battery has died. Has your computer spent most of its life plugged in to the mains power or are you one of those people who put the battery through a daily charge / discharge cycle?
Windows can get confused about the battery status (I have a Dell Latitude 10 tablet which sometimes says there is no battery but still happily works without the mains adapter) but such problems usually get cleared by a reboot. If the computer stops when the mains power is disconnected then either the battery is dead or there's a problem with the electronics between the computer and the battery. The only way to find out is to replace the battery. Get the part number off the battery. It is probably one of these.

- shut the laptop off
- remove it from AC
- poke the little button in the pin hole on the bottom of the device to reset the battery
- replug the AC cable
- switch on again -

This procedure is usually for solving BIOS or boot issues. In your case, possibly with a worn battery, I would try the Battery Calibration feature in BIOS as the first thing.
