Hello all!
I was wondering if someone out there was smart enough and might take a moment to help me with an issue?
Basically, I have just bought a new 700G7A-S02 and I think all the drivers are from 2011, I've had a look on the Samsung website and they describe the drivers as also 2011.
I guess the main driver that im looking to update is the Radeon HD 6970m, I tried to install the latest driver from the AMD website but when I run the installer it tells me that the driver is incompatible with my hardware.
Could this be with all the crap that samsung loaded onto the laptop? I was thinking of formatting it and putting on my copy of windows 7 ultimate, do you think that is worth it?
Many thanks
Neil

Does anyone have any experience with this?
I'd be grateful for any information.
Many Thanks

Please, no bumping threads until 24 hours with no reply - people aren't always sitting at their screens waiting to answer questions.
If you run Easy Software Manager it should offer to replace itself with SW Update. Install SW Update and it may find newer drivers and software - Samsung have decided that it is easier to maintain a database than update web pages.

Thank you for the reply.
Tried SW update and it wouldnt run. installed it again and updated a few programs but not the gpu.
its currently version 8.863.0.0 surely this isnt the most recent version?
thanks again -

First rerun SW Update - what it offers can change from day to day.
Then check the AMD / ATI website for a newer driver. However, make a restore point before installing anything in case the new driver introduces some new problems because some specific Samsung tweaks are required.
Another option is to identify other newer Samsung notebooks with AMD graphics then tell SW Update that's the model you have and see if it finds a newer driver.

I can confirm that the current Catalyst (12.10) cannot be installed. But 12.8. is working fine on my laptop (driver package 8.982-120727a-144945C-ATI is currently installed).

Thank you both for your replies.
I have let SW updater update itself and like i said, it updated a few things like the usb3 and wireless drivers but not the graphic drivers.
That being said I am not experiencing any problems with the drivers that are installed but finding it a little frustration that its not letting me update the drivers from the AMD/ATi website, when i run the installer it just keeps telling me the driver isnt compatible with my hardware.
Is it possible that this is done by Samsung that forces you to use their drivers only? I have bought a SSD and will look to install a clean version of win 7, do you think id have any trouble installing drivers then? Or are their modded versions of the driver out there i need to look for?
Tankh, do you also have the 700G7A? If so how did you go about updating?
Cheers fellas! -
I updatet to catalyst 12.8 via the normal AMD/ATI driver installer which worked without a problem. I did a quick search via google and found http://www2.ati.com/DriverS/mobile/12-8_mobility_vista_win7_win8_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe
Hope that helps.
cheers,

Thank you, i will try it when i finish work.

Thank you Tankh,
After installing my SSD and installing a clean version of Win 7, SW Updater would not find a new version of the drivers. I downloaded the file you mentioned and it works brilliantly.
Many thanks to you both for your help.

you are welcome
I personlly think we cannot expect any kind of driver updates for the 700G7a from samsung.
Fortunately a lot of working drivers can be found in the wild, I upgraded my wifi + USB3 drivers and recently even EasySettings to 2.03. None of this was shown in the SW Updater

Just a quick update:
AMD released catalyst 13.1, official download does not work again.
Fortunately I found a direct download link. Just installed it, seems to work fine.

Nice one, just updated
Once again...thank you!
