The screen looks pretty much awfully blue to me. I used j.lux to bring it down to 5000K, which is somewhat closer to Sony Vaio Pro 13's display at 6500K (default).

Is it just me, or is the screen badly calibrated? Have they set it to 9300K, or something?

Aaand, I still can't find any info on screen type. Some people / reviews say IPS, but is that really so?

I've usually found that the Samsung displays are too blue and have recalibrated mine using a Spyder 4 Express. However, I don't have the X3E in my collection.

IIRC the panel is BOE. You can check for yourself using Moninfo.

If you have an improved display profile then zip it up and post it here so others can share it.
