The specs and weight is nearly identical. In fact, it seems like the Ultrabook version is only .04 lb lighter. And maybe I am reading it incorrectly, but it seems like one version of regular Series 5(NP535U4C- link Series 5 14†Notebook (NP535U4C-A01US) | Samsung Notebooks) is actually THINNER than the Ultra version; it says that the Ultra is .82 thick while the NP535U4C regular Series 5 is .69 thick! The regular version also seems to have 250 more gigs of space. Also, the NP530U4C has a faster processer.
So what are the differences between these notebooks and which one is better?
Regular Version- NP535U4C- Series 5 14†Notebook (NP535U4C-A01US) | Samsung Notebooks
Regular Version- NP530U4C- Specs - Series 5 Notebooks NP530U4C | Samsung Laptops (fastest processer, even more so than the Ultra)
Ultra Version- NP530U4B-A01US - Specs - Notebooks NP530U4BI | Samsung Laptops
Thanks!
I am just looking for a very mobile and light notebook with a fast harddrive and a optical disc drive(this is a must). And the only option seems to be the Series 5, but then the confusion is that the regular version may even be a better choice than the Ultra model.
Thnks again
EDIT: I guess the main question I am asking is what makes the Ultra version of the Series 5 so "Ultra" compared to the regular Series 5 models?
Also, concerning the Ultra Versions, what is the difference between A01, A02, and A03 models?
thanks
Another Edit: One more question, in the future, if I wanted a full SSD, is it easy to upgrade the harddrive on this laptop?

The 535 is the amd version of an ultrabook. Amd named it Ultrathin.
The amd version has a better gpu then the intel ones. But intel has a better cpu.
I ordered the amd version and i am waiting for it to arrive ( still pre-order).

AMD responded with their own label, the "Ultrathin", which is very similar. Read something about AMD's Ultrathins here: AMD Counters Intel Ultrabooks With 'Ultrathin' Line
The Samsung NP530U4B and NP530U4C are two notebooks that are advertised as "Ultrabooks" because they follow Intel's specifications and use Intel's Core i3/i5/i7 (ultra-)low voltage CPUs. The former is based on (older) Sandy Bridge Intel processors, the latter on (newer and faster) Ivy Bridge processors.
There are various configurations available (indicated by the -A01, -A02, -S01, -S02, etc.) that might differ by the hard disk size (500GB, 750GB, 1TB, etc.), the processor used (i3, i5 or i7) or the if they come with an additional dedicated graphics card.
(The Intel processors have integrated graphic processors that are fine for normal daily use, but if you want to play games or do video editing or something similar, you might want to get a notebook model with a dedicated graphic card. Some configurations of the Samsung NP530U4BC come with a Nvidia GT 620M card.)
I wrote a little review of the NP530U4C-S01 here.
The Samsung NP535U4C is based on an AMD processor. Again, there are different configurations available, for example with an AMD A6-4455 (see the review here: Review Samsung Series 5 535U4C Notebook - Notebookcheck.net Reviews )
or an AMD A10-4655M processor (faster, see this: Amazon.com: Samsung Series 5 NP535U4C-A01US 14-Inch Laptop (Silver): Computers & Accessories ).
For normal use, there is probably no difference between the Intel or the AMD models.
Regarding your last question: it is quite easy to upgrade the hard drive to a full SSD - you just have to open the base of the notebook and swap drives.
A lot of confusion about the Series 5... What is the difference between the regular Series 5 14' and the Series 5 14' Ultrabook?
