I have a new Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus NP940X3G-K04US and SB970 27 qHD monitor. I have attempted to attach the monitor directly to the laptop and set it as the primary display but only get 1920x1080 resolution. I then connected a HP3005 USB3.0 port replicator utilizing the DisplayLink 3900 chip that has max resolution of 2560x1440 (same as the 970) but still cannot achieve anything better than 1920x1080. Seems odd that the laptop has a 3200x1800 resolution but an external monitor cannot get better than 1080.

Are there any solutions to this issue? The 970 looks horribly at 1920x1080!

    Thanks!
