Specifically for the ATIV book 6, I see that the color is different, but other than that is there any difference? Is the keyboard different? i think the battery might be different and Samsung is saying the ATIV book 6 has superior battery life, not sure what to make out of that.

There was a website (pci34.fishingtree.com) which had the advertising materials for both the old (non-Ativ) and new (Ativ) models. However, it has gone off-line. Do you have a link to the Ativ specs?

Keyboard colour and whether or not backlit may differ. I doubt if the battery is different but if there's an SSD instead of HDD then the run time may be longer.

Actually it looks that the Ativ 6, has almost half (4cell 57Wh) the battery...

Thank you Dannemand! I realized it myself a bit later, that Ativ 6 is actually a re branding of series 5, not 7...

No problem, again quite a bit of discussion about that. Consensus seems to be Ativ 6=Series 5 and Ativ 8=Series 7.

It's not a rebranding of the Series 5. The specs are all identical to the Series 7 Chronos except for the battery. None of the specs are the same as the Series 5--- the 5 was a low end laptop with an awful screen, the type you give to your grand dad.

The Ativ 8 is meant to be the replacement for the Series 7 Chronos, and has exactly the same specs (except for IIRC 8 GB RAM, but then the BB Chronos had that too and it got better). The Ativ 6 does have a smaller battery and weaker speakers, among other things.

Here's Samsung's version of how the new and old models compare (from their facebook page):

With acknowledgement to whoever posted a link to that page in another thread yesterday.
