Any reviews, love for the Samsung Notebook M 11.6" ?

I just discovered the existence of this product, for $399:

• Intel® Celeron™ Processor
• Windows 10 Home
• 128 GB SSD storage
• 11.6" LED display

Display (Brightness: 220nit) might be crappy, though.

 

A modern day netbook with, as you note, an unimpressive display.

I again ended up eyeing with this. Sure, it long has been updated. As the Amazon reviewers state, it's a little too expensive for $400 retail, albeit less expensive for $350 street price. They also say build quality is good (that's already better than your average cookie cutter $200 netbook or Windows cloudbook these days), Samsung's homepage also states it has an LED display (which your average $200 netbook doesn't have).

What's interesting to me at all in this, that this category exists at all. And only at Samsung?

- It has better build quality than the average netbook
- It has a better display than your average $200 netbook (LED)
- It's a real, non-touch notebook, not a 2-in-1, useless Frankenstein no customer really wanted (my 2 cents echoing Walt Mossberg's observations)
- It has a real, M.2 SSD of adequate size size (128GB)
- It costs a little more than $200, but for $400 and especially for $350, it certainly doesn't look bad at all.

Only at Samsung? Why? Maybe because it's a major, aspiring brand daring to experiment, while other, legacy PC makers would me more afraid by releasing a product like this would eat to the profits of their established product lines.

I wonder if Samsung will update this ever. Or other brands come out with competing models.

 

The "LED display" most likely means LED backlighting which has been standard for some years rather than the CCFL backlights which came before.

Well, 399 with 128 GB SSS is really good, but i guess they should put more care on the processor.
