    Hi guys!
anybody installing windows 8 CPE as a dual boot option on series 7 Chronos?

i have been at it all day long but i couldnt install win8 still....

initially because of the no of primary disk.
we have a 100mb sytem partition, then the windows 7 partition and samsung recovery partition. but i had divided C into two C & D, C: for OS & Software & D: for data & media.

so i deleted my D: and made c: one long drive. still no go....
everytime i boot from usb and in setup, and after choosing install location in custom installation, i get an error message saying "we couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one" and i am stuck there...

long story short, aafter hours of browsing different forums and microsoft support, i made my C: a logical volume from a primary one and then re allocated it and made 2 logical drives, in effect reducing the no of primary partitions in a drive... and then went in to install and BAM!! facepalm!!! the same error!!!

i tried even using the boot from VHD method, but installation was a no go...

I think it has to do with the Diskeeper SSD or something! i am not sure...

    Any inputs guys?

Thanks Uggarocka for your quick response!

i tried it b4 as stated, but i got more or less the similiar error message! and was not able to install!!

now i am burning a Win8 DVD, i saw somewhere that too many drives could cause this error and i was using a bootable USB, which in turn was another primary partition/volume (i am getting confused) so i am trying with a DVD install to VHD and removing the USB out of the picture..

will update the results once done!

Was just going to note that I had no problem installing from a burned DVD. Now I'm just looking for driver improvements. I'm using a Chronos 7 - what are you using?

I've only gone with the stock drivers, other than the new Intel graphics driver that came via Windows Update.

I'm curious about three things are your setup:
    1) Have you installed the new AMD drivers that were released (by AMD) specifically for the CP?
    2) Are you using the Samsung-provided touchpad drivers? The ones loaded by default are driving me nuts.
    3) What is your wireless throughput like (Broadcom)? In my Win7 install, I get 20Mbps+, but in the Win8 install I'm getting less than 3Mbps. Not sure what the difference is, I haven't investigated much.

Runs great from inside a VM...with the right settings, performance feels pretty close to native.
Heh you guys are crazy for installing to the HDD :)

I just installed the RTM over my W7 Ultimate that was having major issus with USB 3 disconnects, and other issues. Happy so far, USB3 is much better, fewer disconnects (thanks to MSFT native USB 3 drivers?)

Added the start menu back via Start8 ...

Fingers crossed that Samsung will release a full set of W8 compatible apps/drivers.
