Anyone know if the Book 8's up for a Haswell refresh?

I assume it must be, but knowing Samsung's track record so far in my market I really wouldn't be surprised if they just drop the machines. I want a machine like the Book 8 in reserve, something relatively cheap but powerful for an upcoming requirement and am debating whether to buy the existing Book 8's or wait. The Haswell runtime boost would come in useful since it's likely to be used on the move as well.

I'm quite bitter because I couldn't buy these machines when I last had the requirement for this type of machine - being thoroughly messed around by the Samsung rep for my reseller - and I eventually filled it with M4700's. On the other hand my experience with Samsungs - when I have managed to buy them - has been fairly positive overall, so as long as it's actually purchasable within a reasonable lead time I've no major qualms against buying Samsung as such.

I haven't seen any news on the refresh of any of the current gen laptops. If you were to buy one, buy it from bestbuy since it has the open memory slots, all 8 GB ram is onboard, some of the reviews for the one purchased direct from Samsung say the expansion slots has a 4GB module in it.

A quick search reveals this http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/734563-ativ-7-book-haswell-refresh.html

I have difficulty in believing that Samsung would create a new chassis and drop it after a few months.

To what extent new models have been delayed by sorting out Windows 8.1 compatibility and to what extent the desire to clear out Ivy Bridge inventory before having to discount it (Intel could well be giving out incentives to delay shipping Haswell models) we don't know.

People in a few countries have been told by Samsung marketing people that the new models will be launched within a month, so let's watch out.

Given the delay and lack of announcements, I have a feeling they might make slight changes to the computer as well, maybe a QHD option, mSATA slot, who knows. Currently I'm waiting for their Haswell refresh, but I'm eyeing the new Dell XPS15 as well.
