I have this laptop and just want to ask a few question:
    1. Is the max temp for i5 4200U before throttle 71C? Anyway to change it?

    2. The graphic fq is shown as 599MHZ in Intel XTU... anyway to lower it to decrease power consumption?

    3. Anyway got any undervolt setting for this model?

I don't recall anyone else here having this notebook which, I believe, is a variant of the more popular NP930X5J / NP940X5J. Does the NP910S5J have two cooling fans (the configuration in the NP930X5J / NP940X5J)?

Intel's specification for the i5-4200U shows a Tjunction temperature of 100C. That is the maximum allowable temperature and throttling usually starts a few degrees below that value. For example, I've got a Lenovo T420s which starts to throttle at 95C but I've never come across notebooks starting to throttle below 90C. The Intel specifications also show the graphics base frequency as 200MHz.

I would start by reinstalling the Samsung Settings program (which includes loading of power profiles) and making sure that the Samsung Optimized power plan is selected.

Yes, it's a variant of the Ativ Book 9 2014 Edition but heavier (1.98kg vs 1.8kg), lower capacity battery (55 vs 62), with faux leather like design and no i7 option. It's only sold in certain countries like Korea and Malaysia. It only has single fan

I suspect samsung limit it to 71C.. I havent check BIOS yet... will update later... Ativ Book 9 Style.jpg
