    Hi folks,
I just procured a used Series 7 Chronos NP007Z3C (the 14incher if you're not familiar with them, I think they're discontinued) and so far am loving it. I do have a little issue with the touchpad. On my other notebook (ASUS ROG) which has a synaptics touchpad I can set the corners such that if I tap them I can move back and forward in web browsers and what have you.
For the life of me, with all the 2, 3 & 4 finger gestures there's no way to program any zone or any gesture for front and back movement while browsing etc.

So am I missing something, or are the Synaptics folks just ultra visionaries for looking out for the web browsing folks, while Elantp just dropped the ball?

While we're on the subject, is there anyway to rig the touchpad to scroll by running your finger on the side of the touchpad just like Synaptic instead of the 2 finger gesture. Old habits die hard and I prefer that to the 2 finger gesture setup.

Thanks for any help or insight shared.

Our accumulated wisdom about the Elan pad is encapsulated in this thread. See if there are any clues.

In particular, note that there is a "secret" control panel (called ETDAniConf) that provides significantly more configuration and gesture control than the standard one. See this post for details on how to get it. It's in that thread which John linked, so maybe you already found it.

Oh, and welcome to NBR :)

Good call: Here is a possible setting to give the page up / page down functionality.
