    Hello,

I just got the NP900X5N and decided I'll definitely keep it. It came with a charger which is OK but has the transformer at the base of the unit. If Samsung makes one that has it mid cable that would be better for me as it will be a challenge to plug into a crowded power strip or a wall outlet with another transformer unit connected. I can't find the original one either if that is even an option.

If anyone has a recommended adapter for the US unit NP900X5N-L01US - I would appreciate it.
The part on the charger says - w16-065n4a it might be the BA44-00341A - just can't find it other than samsungparts.com

    Thanks you.

I see from here that the AC adapter is rated at 40W. The photo of the left side suggests that the adapter plug diameter is the same as the previous Series / Book 9 notebooks (3mm outside diameter, from memory). Provided the adapter DC rating is 19V (check label on adapter or notebook) then I would expect the standard previous generation adapters to be compatible. There is this one and there is also a more box shaped Samsung adapter (slightly smaller overall size) or plenty of 3rd party ones. Some people won't touch the 3rd party ones but I've had no trouble with them but have had at least two of the Samsung adapters die. I also prefer adapters which use a mains lead with a Fig-8 (as opposed to cloverleaf) plug as the mains cable for the former is thinner and lightler.

Thanks - I noticed in one review they said the new adapter is slimmer( although the old one may be completely compatible as you say) 19v 3.42a upn W065r032L

19V 3.42A is 65W. Is that PSU the one shown here where the info says fast charging? This might explain the 65W PSU. Does the label on the bottom of the computer also say 19V 3.42A? If so, then I can't find any other 65W PSUs for Samsung notebooks which have the 3mm diameter plug. It's possible that the notebook will work happily with a 40W adapter but I'm not sure if it will be clever enough to not overload it.

Boy you really know your stuff! I did look at the bottom of the laptop (wouldn't have dawned on me) and it does say 19v 3.42a 65Watt. I guess I'll call them on Monday and see if they have any.

@boe You can use an USB Typ C charger for the Notebook 9 2017. It supports charging over USB. I'm using one charger from a newer HP Spectre ( HP (X7W50AA) USB-C 65W). You can also use the USB-C chargers mentioned for the new Apple Mac Books or a Power Bank with USB Type C Support. [IMG]

Where did you buy it? The original chargers are hard to find.

    bump.

my power adapter cable is fraying where it meets the brick.

I hope Anker releases the PowerPort Atom PD4 soon. might be perfect for a USB-C charging alternative.
