So I put in a order for a series 9 NP900X3A-B01UB from B&H for 969. I have been waiting for a series 9 to come down in price and this was the best deal I could find. I have a spending limit of a $1000 but recently saw that Samsung came out with the X3B. I'm a grad student and need a notebook ASAP and wanted to know if it would still be a better idea to keep my order for the older model or should I just wait a little longer and get the X3A? My girlfriend has a spare computer to use and I can save up for it but is it the difference between the two worth it?

Display resolution is a key difference. The X3B offers more real estate. Also, the X3B has the Samsung PLS panel (equivalent to IPS) which gives much improved viewing angles.

The X3A also had WiFi connectivity problems although this was much improved in one of the later models that had the Intel 3x3 WiFi card with 3 antennae. Samsung fixed the WiFi issue on the X3B.

Thanks, those are exactly the same pros I saw between the two. Personally I really don't don't do a lot of video or graphics on my notebook, the higher resolution screen isn't to much of a deal breaker when comparing the two. Do you think I would regret it if I kept the X3A when the X3B is already here?

If you don't want the extra real estate and can live with any WiFi issues then the X3A at discounted pricing provides good value for money.

Personally, I like the extra space and am able to afford to pay for it.

Your right I'll just throw a extra $300 and get a better model that has less issues. I think down the road I'll be happier knowing that most of the kinks are ironed out. Thanks again for your help
