    Hello,

After a failure during bios update FROM 10FD to 12FD, my brand new laptop won't boot anymore :(
Nothing happen, the blue light for power stays on, the blue light for HDD goes on for a few second and then off.

    2 questions :

Is there a way or a procedure to restore the stock bios ? Is there a jumper on the motherboard to do the trick ? Or other procedure to re-init the bios rom/cmos ??

I saw a little hole under the laptop. One hole to use with a paper clip. What does this button do when pressed ?

I wan't to appologize for my bad english.

    Thanks all.
    Seb

The little hole on the bottom is to disconnect the battery when you do something like change the RAM, for example. Sorry I don't know how to restore the BIOS.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure you are screwed if the bios update fails. The laptop is bricked. Sorry =(

Every laptop has a way to restore BIOS to the default setting and another way to force upgrade. There are still some backup left on BIOS, but for normal user, it is difficult how to get those back. You might want to try to remove the cover and find the location of the CMOS batter. Then disconnect it for awhile to see if CMOS is reset or not. If is still does not boot, then you better take it to Samsung for service.

It was either in the user manual or on the Samsung support website in the instructions for adding RAM.
