I just received my i7 SO1-UK and managed to play with it for all of 5 mins when I discovered that the screen was losing on of the primary colours and losing definition when I folded the screen out to its max extent.
I also found that placing the screen in certain angles of the I could cause the same issue to occur by pressing the thin bezel on the left hand side of the screen.

I have a small YouTube video showing the issue. I will say that the video looks like I am forcing the screen against the stop causing it to bend , this is not the case. It's simply opening and closing very gently.

Has this issue occurred with anyone else?

I'm pretty sure that I was playing with one in store that did the same thing
John Lewis are being very good about sending out a replacement but apparently Samsung have kicked up over the issue ?!

I just pushed the entire left bezel of my series seven and never once did I see the colors change. I think your replacement should be fine.

Samsung wouldn't give John Lewis a rma number , I wasn't party to the conversation but was on hold with JL for over 30 mins while managers and alike got involved. JL did keep me informed every so often, telling me that Samsung were being awkward.

I am supposed to be getting a replacement from JL , delivered in a couple of days .. i just hope it turns up. Seems as if JL are completely out of these notebooks ever since they dropped the price.

Not really sure that a camera would pick up the semi naffness of the viewing angle .. even in HD

The good news for me at least . JL have delivered the 2nd laptop and all seems well

    Hi all,

Just picked up my NP700Z5A-S05UK from JL and after getting it home I noticed the that there is a gap of around 1 to 2 mm all the way along the bottom of the screen between the display and bezel.

I am basically talking about the metal bezel where the name Samsung appears. It does not appear very sturdy at all and you can easily put your finger nail in the gap and pull/bend the lower bezel outwards. (Obviously I haven't done this!) Just seems not the well-built for a £1000 system and I have seen a lot of laptops in my time.

I am going to call JL tonight to ask them to look at the one in the store and see if it is the same. In the meantime would be great to hear from any of you as obviously they can check one and on here I could get feedback on many more. Do you have a gap all the way along this bezel/screen? The left, right and top are a much tighter fit, it is just the lower bezel that concerns me.

    Many thanks

    Arctic
