I have a Samsung NP550P5C. It appears to have a bios routine that balks if the hardware configuration on boot is different from the last boot. In fact, If I just boot from different CD's, each time about half way through the boot process it resets and starts the boot all over again, successfully the second time.

So when doing some testing and switching between the Image for Linux CD and the BartPE CD, I have to boot twice each time, which is not helpful.

Is there a magic decoder ring that will let me bypass this hardware test and just go ahead and boot the first time?

Check if there is a fast BIOS mode option on the advanced page in the BIOS. If so, disable it (you can achieve the same by disabling all the Fast boot mode on the Boot page in Easy Settings).

    Thanks, but that's already disabled.
