I'm looking to purchase a Series 7 laptop.

There are so many model numbers and differences I have no idea which one to pick lol.

If someone would be so kind to point me to a Wiki with comparisons, or help me find the model in question that would be amazing!

I'm looking for the one with:
    -Core i7 Quad Core
    -1600x900 screen
    -1TB with the ExpressCache
-Hybrid Dedicated GPU (Fastest one, I think it was 6790?)
-Sold (or can be shipped to) the USA.

I want to say its the : NP700Z5A-S0AUS or NP700Z5A-S03US. But I'm not sure. I appreciate your help!

I don't think anyone has been so industrious as to do this: There would be a daily task of scouring the net for any new models.

The best I can offer is a simple guide to understanding the model number which comes in two sections such as NP900X3A-B01UK, NP900X3A-B0BUS or NP900X3B-A01US. The part of the string before the - is a standard model code, the last two letters are a code for the country and the 3 digits in between are indicators of different versions. Unfortunately, there's no logic behind those three digits except that they usually start with A or 1, so A01 was probably released before A03. However, start adding in special versions for big retailers and it can get confusing because no single retailer may stock all versions. Also, older versions may cease to be available because, for example, the CPU speed has gone up one step.

NP9 indicates a series 9 and NP7 indicates a series 7, etc. In the old days one could also be certain that the version number reflected the screen size by using the last digital of the integer screen size. However, Samsung then confused me because NP700Z 3A-S05US is actually 14".

The best you can do is google for the first part of the model number and sift through the hits. The alternative is to look on the relevant Samsung country website and hope that it is up to date will all the available versions.

Wow! Thanks for the info. Looks like samsung really dropped the ball on the naming scheme lol.

I'm just wondering what's the most powerful/full featured model in the USA. I plan on ordering soon, unless a refresh is coming out.

The refresh is due this April or May. The 17.3" came out for pre-order today.

    @ John

It's NP700Z 3A because they also once planned or at least developed an NP700Z 4A which was 15".

Yours doesn't have the Wi-Di though right? I'm going to most likely get this laptop through work so we'll see what I can get out of them.

I will be purchasing the S0AUS version this week if that helps. Here's what I've found out after visiting many forums and reading all the reviews. Only downside is that you get Windows 7 Home instead of Professional, and it doesn't have the woofer speaker when compared to the S03US version. Other than that, it has a few benefits. An improved Intel wireless card, WiDi, and a bigger 1TB hard drive. Since I don't really care about the speakers (I'll use headphones), and I'll be loading my own copy of Windows 7 Pro...the S0AUS was the best choice for me.

This is the cheapest I found it online (no tax and free shipping)
