    Hello!

I'm thinking about ordering the 15.6" from tigerdirect, but wanted to confirm whether this model came with a backlit keyboard. In the specifications listed, it says 'yes' but there is a lot of misinformation on that site.

For example, the tigerdirect website says that the 14" NP700Z3A-S01US comes with a DVD drive/backlit keyboard, but when I contacted Samsung they said that particular model model did not come with either feature.

I just ordered the 14" you speak of for my wife, which is listed as having backlit keyboard and DVDRW...Looked on samsung's website and it doesn't mention them. With that said, samsung's website for the 15.6 doesn't mention them either. I'm not sure what's going on, but it amounts to epic fail in my book. Produce a potentially great product, and botch the marketing / delivery.

I also have a 15.6 en route from provantage (should be here Tuesday). Trying to get rid of my Macbook Pro because my windows only software is bothering me in parallels.

Yeah it doesn't make sense because the 14" images showed a slot loading DVD drive, but according to the representative I talked to, he said the model didn't have either DVD or backlit features. I'm hoping he was wrong.

When you receive the 14", can you let me know if it has the backlit and DVD drive features? Thanks!

The 15.6 from Tigerdirect is what I got too.
If I remember correctly all model ending with Z5A has backlit and expresscache.
Samsung is terrible when it comes to notebook support it's not worth the time talking to them. Most of them don't know crap about it.

I am pretty sure the representatives you talked to just looked on Samsung's website and did not see the dvd drive and express cache listed in the specs for the 14".

The truth is, the specs don't always cover everything on their website and the specs for some of the 15" models didn't list a dvd drive either even though the shipped product actually had it.

Someone on Amazon claims they purchased it in store from compusa(tigerdirect) and confirms the backlit keyboard and express cache. I am willing to bet it has the dvd drive as well.
