Sorry for not picking an approriate thread, but I'm really at my wit's end... :(

My NP700Z5A-S05UK won't go beyond the BIOS anymore, just a flickering grey screen!
First this happened only when UEFI was disabled, now also with UEFI enabled.
Loading the Windows disc does not help, only the greyish screen appears.
I don't really know what to do now, fellows...

I have replaced the HDD by a Samsung 256GB SDD, which worked reasonably stable, until now...

Have I bricked my laptop?

Is the Windows disk you refer to a hologram disk from a retail copy of Windows 7 or did you download a .ISO and burn your own DVD?

Ir it's the latter, did you check the MD5 hash to verify the download completed correctly?

Or put another way, have you tested the disk with a VM or other system and know it works?

After numerous tries I got a bit angry and hacked away wildly at the keyboard and lo and behold the supplied Windisk loaded!
So this time I installed W7 extra carefully and downloaded all W7 drivers from the Samsung site.
Now all my problems are gone & the startup is even faster.
So I didn't need to remove the back ofter again...
This thing happened after I installed Paragon Partition Magic and made an extra partition, then it rebooted and !!!???!!!...
So, like a friend said, make a sound folder system and you don't need extra partitions, more so because an SSD doesn't want defrag...
    Thanks for the replies.
