    Hi.

I just cannot get use to the brightness control on the Q210, every time i adjust the brightness using the Fn key and change the power mode, it resets to full brightness and every time you boot into Vista you get full brightness.

I know you can use Vista`s own brightness control, it cannot be hard to make the brightness level stay the way you set it?

My Toshiba laptop can do it, my Higrade laptop could do it, is it beyond Samsung.

Also why have they linked the brightness control to the display driver, and if you don't use Samsung`s own driver it does not work at all.

Tell me i am not Alone on this One!!!!!

    Regards

    John.

    Hi.

I don't think the easy display manager does anything in regard to remembering the brightness level.

I think Samsung needs ti fix this!!

One suggestion that I can share with you is to go to the SAMSUNG BATTERY MANAGER.. Here, you'll be able to customized your brightness settings, power options, etc. Just be sure to enable the CUSTOMIZED section. The next time you boot up it will remember the correct brightness settings which you chose in the CUSTOMIZED section along with all the other settings.. Hope it works... I love Samsung!!

    Hi.

Were do you see the Samsung battery manger, i cant find it?

I know it`s linked to the Fn + F8 key, but there are no option, also there is no entry in start/samsung menu or in the control panel.

So how do you adjust the options?

    Thanks

    John.

EDIT : do you mean the Windows mobility Center , that is part of Vista and not made by Samsung?

oooo..... Do you also have the MAGIC KEYBOARD & EASY DISPLAY MANAGER installed? hhmm... These 2 should also be installed together with the EASY BATTERY MANAGER then you'll see the Samsung folder on start up...

    Hi.

Magic Keyboard is only a XP download, not for Vista on the Q210 anyway.

I think that there is an option in the BIOS - take a look on boot up.

    Hi.

I have tried it, I think you have the option of auto or user, the manual say that if you choose user the brightness level will be remembered , but it does not seem to work.

    Regards

    John.
