There are a couple of photos and a description here and full sales waffle and specs here. It shows the weight as 2.05kg, which may be fairly honest since it is in the same range as the "starting weight" of various 14" business notebooks.

    Hello,

I am considering buying a Samsung QX412 and since it has the same chassis as the QX410 I was wondering what do you guys think of the build quality ot the QX410?

When I went to check the laptop on a store I noticed that there was a lot of flex above the DVD drive by pressing and even only by opening and closing the screen.
Did any of you have any problem with that?

    Are the hinges solid?

(sorry for the triple post but I would like to collect the biggest number of experiences - if I decide to get the laptop I'll come here to give my impressions afterwards).

Well, from reviews the QX412 seems to be built well apart from that area... Look at the reviews above, they comment on build quality. Overall I think the QX10 was built fine, not the toughest out there but also not the flimsyness either :)

Its not quite released there yet but will be soon as Asia, Australia and now Europe (just got it in past few days) are shipping it.

For Europe only seems to be on one German site :S Hopefully it will come to the UK soon and then probably America :)

I'd say you will at least hear something within a month.

I certainly hope so, my old Samsung X460 is limping along on its last breath, and I would like to replace it with a QX412.

Danish retailers showed last week that QX412 were in stock, but now every single retailer has removed the laptop from stock. Instead som writes on their homepage that QX412 will be available again on the 20th May, but other retailers write about the beginning of June.

Thanks for the info! Much appreciated. Funny how all the websites are taking it off - even the actual official Samsung website!

But glad that there's a rough idea of when its going to be realeased altho I doubt it will be the 20th but I could be wrong :p

Wonder why this is happening tho? :S

On the official Samsung site here in Denmark it is still listed. I'm having a hard time believing that it will be released tomorrow, cause here in Denmark it is an official holiday tomorrow...

Bought one in Aus, and I have to say the screen is really bad. Maybe I've been spoiled by the Toshiba panel in my M1330, but the leakage on the QX412 is excessive.

Trying to get a refund at the moment, but all I can say is if you're even remotely sensitive to backlight bleed, stay away from this one.

It's a shame, as everything else about it is great. :(

Thanks for this, but what do you mean by leakage and backlight bleed sorry? Do you mean its really dim or something?

    Hi guys!
Recently I bought a Samsung QX-411, which is quite similar to 412, actually, Bluetooth & Nvidia 525 are the only differences I think.

My 411 hasn't got bluetooth attached & I like to add it, in Samsung Support told me about to replace the WiFi Wimax Card with a "dual card", WiFi + Bluetooth, 65€+ Tax. :s

    The question is:
    Which WiFi device 412 has?
They use the same Motherboard, so should be work.

    Thx
