    Downgrade Samsung R700 bios ?

    Hi,
    Anyone can help me about downgrading Samsung R700 bios ?
    I have running "Samsung update plus" and the bios now is "10SR", I have many problem with the graphic card under linux with this bios.

    Before update the bios was "04SR" and linux worked well.
    I call samsung center and the tecnical support said me that I can not have previous bios "04SR".

    I have searched over internet, but no result :(

    Please help me to find Samsung R700 "04SR" bios.

    The 08SR BIOS is listed here. That's the oldest I can find that is listed by Samsung although 04SR appears to be here.

    However, the Samsung BIOS installer will not normally overwrite a newer version. You will have to use the method described here.

    You will first have to make a bootable CD with the DOS BIOS installer. The easiest way to do this may be to get one of the other Samsung CD ISO files (choose one from here) and then edit the ISO file to include the R700 BIOS installer.

    but the link for "04SR" do no work :( I have seen it.

    I tried also the "08SR" but Its is the same that "10SR".

    Please Can you give me a new valid link for "04SR" ?

    I am so sad :(

    I suspect that the reason Samsung say that you can't have 04SR is that they can't find it either. Google finds one link to the Samsung site, but that doesn't work. I think they restructured their file system. SamsungPC.com used to list the older BIOS versions.

    You will need to find a sympathetic support person who will ask Samsung Korea if they can find the file. There's a very small chance that another R700 user has the file stored on their HDD and will pass by and notice your request.

    Hi John,
    I have found a windows exe file version of the 06SR bios file.
    Can you help me to extract the exe file so I can downgrade in dos mode ?
    I tried winrar, universal extrator, but no way to extract phonenix bios.

    I don't know of a reliable disassembly tool (but it might exist). You can inspect the file in notepad and you could copy out what looks to be the BIOS part, but if you are one character wrong then :mad:
