Recently I bought a Samsung Series 3 (NP300-V5A-A02US), and one thing that annoys me about it is the power plug. That is, the plug from the AC adapter, which goes in a socket on the left side of the computer.
The problem is that it sticks straight out. I would rather have a 90 degree bent plug, so that I do not have the cord sticking out 2". The existing plug is not just aesthetically unpleasant, but takes up extra desk space and raises the possibility of the plug being accidentally broken off (along with the socket on the computer mainboard).
The AC adapter is manufactured for Samsung by Taiwanese firm Delta Electronics, Inc. I emailed Delta's US office to ask where I can get hold of a 90 degree coupler, but they replied that they do not sell the plugs, or know of anyone who sells a compatible connector.
I checked Monoprice, DealExtreme, and Ebay, but found nothing close. Mostly I just found aftermarket AC adapters.
To clarify: I want something like this:

Except it has to be the right dimensions, of course. I did find this one at Bix Power:
CNT-C2
That one has the same numbers as the Samsung connector (5.5 mm OD, 3.3 mm ID, center pin) on one end, but the wrong size (2.5 mm ID) on the other. It also lacks the "nozzle" effect on the Samsung power tip, which is probably there to keep the plug from pulling out easily.
Anyone found a right-angle power tip that is compatible with Samsung AC adapters?

Well this sucks.
According to Bix Power, the CNT-C2 is designed to work with their "universal" AC adapter, which presumably has the 2.5mm outer diameter plug. They don't make a pass-through elbow connector so that you can use the original Samsung AC adapter.
Apparently, I'm supposed to buy an entire new AC adapter set just to have an elbow connector at the DC end. Ridiculous. I need a $3 connector, not an entire $50 power supply.
Perhaps when the Series 3 have been around for a while, accessory makers will step up with an elbow DC adapter as they have for some other brands. -
Well, if you frequently use your computer at both your home and other places, you could get the universal and have one power brick at home and the other in your computer bag. Also, since you will have a universal, it can be used for future computers as well.
Elbow connector for Samsung charging plug?
