Hi,
I've had a NP780Z5E for just over a year so out of warrant (just!).
Suddenly yesterday the machine went from a decent amount of charge to zero and turned off while being used without the usual power warning notification.
Plugging in the power adapter I have a flashing light - orange and green - and though the machine boots and works it shows no battery charge and also that it is not charging at all.
I've checked the manual but could not see anything specific on what the orange/green blinking light means but saw a forum post suggesting this means a defective battery.
Please can anyone confirm this and if there is anything I can try as a fix before replacing the battery? Also does anyone know where I can buy a replacement battery from?
Many thanks in advance.

Hello pagem, welcome to NBR.
While we do occasionally get reports of batteries that fail to charge, I don't think I remember reports of those flashing LEDs you describe. You can try and search the Owners Lounge where most owners of your model hang out:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/sam...unge-np770z5e-np780z5e-np870z5e-np880z5e.html
You are also welcome to post there if you do not receive further responses here in 24 hours.
As for buying a new battery, we normally refer to samsungparts.com, who lists BA43-00359A as the part number for your battery. You can Google that number to search for better prices or suppliers closer to you.
