So, I reinstalled windows using the recovery disk and now my function keys don't work.

    What could be causing this?

    Thanks :)

You probably need to install the Samsung Display Manager software.

Either run the Samsung drivers CD or download the latest packages from the Samsung download website. I would note, however, that the driver CD includes a PowerDVD suite which you can't download.

You need to install Magic Keyboard app from Utility disc or download it from official samsung web-site.

Good point about Magic Keyboard - I'd overlooked that one.

So, if I wanna installa as little Samsung software as possible, AND YET STILL wan the special function keys, i.e. the functions denoted in green imprint on top of certain keys, to work, do I JUST install the Magic KeyBoard or Samsung Display Manager?

Those functions, I'm referring to are like pressing Fn + "a key" to turn up/down brightness/volume, etc.

I do not wanna install too much additional Samsung software.

First try Magic Keyboard. It may give the functions you need but possibly without the on-screen display. You can always uninstall the application.

On my R20 it's the Display Manager, that Magic Keyboard thingy doesn't seem to do anything useful (for me).
