Just saw this new Windows hybrid from Samsung review on Engadget. Pretty interesting, though I guess the keyboard cover and Core M cpu leave something to be desired. Battery life appears to be exceptional even with a 4K (edit: actually 1440p) Amoled screen.

    http://www.engadget.com/2016/04/01/samsung-galaxy-tabpro-s-review/

Here are specs from the NBP review John links below:

    • 12-inch touch AMOLED display (2166×1440 resolution), 360 nit brightness
    • Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    • Intel Core m3 (4M Cache, up to 2.20 GHz)
    • Intel HD 515 integrated graphics
    • 4GB LPDDR3 (1600MHz) RAM (non-expandable)
    • 128GB SSD
    • 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band Wi-Fi
    • Bluetooth 4.1
    • 5-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera
    • Dimensions: 11.43 x 7.83 x .25 inches (tablet only)
    • Weight: 1.53 pounds (tablet only)
    • 1-year standard parts and labor warranty
    • Ships with keyboard folio case, Adaptive Fast Charger
    • Price: $899

I'm hoping they come out with a ~10" model as that's my sweet spot for tablets. Still waiting for the Surface 3 refresh.

There is also also a review of thr TabPro on NBR.

I've never got on very well with a Windows tablet unless I use a separate keyboard, so I might as well use my 13" NP900X3B which includes both a keyboard and a pointing device (and these days has a 500GB SSD).

Yes, I agree these two in ones are not great productivity machines. Before it died, I found the SP3 far too compromising even on a table, though it was fine when docked. Mostly I am looking for a Windows tablet for recreation that will fit easily on airplane trays as even my X3G is a tight squeeze in economy. Only one USB3.1 port on this TabPro is probably a deal breaker as well.

That's actually a 2K display, 3:2 aspect ratio, same as Surface Pro 3... but AMOLED in the case of the Samsung of course.
