Because I think, I'm not the only one who bought the 770z5e for Gaming sometimes, I want to open a thread for everything about gaming performance on the 770z5e.

So here are the ones, I already testet (still downloading 80% of the games I want to test ;) )

    NFS Most Wanted 2013:

    Settings: high - 1920x1080px -- min: 24 fps max: 43 fps avg: 35 fps
    Settings: medium - 1600x900px -- min: 28 fps max: 55 fps avg: 40 fps
    Settings: low - 1366x768px -- min: 27 fps max: 61 fps avg: 43 fps
    Settings: min - 1280x688px -- min: 36 fps max: 62 fps avg: 55 fps
    --> playable on medium settings

Battlefield 3 (multiplayer, 64 player server, caspian border)

    Settings: high - 1920x1080px -- min: 25 fps max: 44 fps avg: 34 fps
    Settings: medium - 1600x900px -- min: 27 fps max: 67fps avg: 40 fps
    Settings: low - 1366x768px -- min: 33 fps max: 82fps avg: 48 fps
--> better for Multipayer is low with ~48fps, medium is still playable

    Bioshock Infinite (outdoors)
    Settings:
    Ultra - 1920x1080px -- min: 20 fps max: 28 fps avg: 25 fps
    High - 1920x1080px -- min: 30 fps max: 43 fps avg: 36fps
    Medium - 1600x900px -- min: 41fps max: 57 fps avg: 50fps
    --> playable on high

    SimCity 2013:

    Settings:
    High + AA - 1920x1080px -- Min: 5 fps Max: 34fps Avg: 22 fps
    Medium - 1920x1080px Min: 13 fps Max: 36 fps Avg: 27 fps
    Low: - 1600x900px -- Min: 11 fps Max: 43 fps Avg: 34fps
--> Really bad performance, my 620m had a similar performance :(

    GTA IV (day, mission 2)

    Settings:
    high + 4x AA (automatic settings) - 1920x1080px -- min: 24 fps max: 49 fps avg: 39 fps
    medium + 4x AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 20 fps max: 36 fps avg: 29 fps
    low + 2x AA - 1600x900px -- min: 19 fps max: 27 fps avg: 24 fps

--> Don't know, why high settings perform best, but also hope for better drivers here.

    Tomb Raider (2013):

    Settings:
    medium - 1920x1080px -- min: 33 fps max: 62 fps avg: 46 fps
    high - 1920x1080px -- min: 25 fps max: 53 fps avg: 38 fps
    ultra - 1920x1080px -- min: 23 fps max: 32 fps avg: 27 fps

    Dirt Showdown

    Settings:
medium, no AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 38 fps max: 55 fps avg: 45 fps
    high, 2x AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 24 fps max: 48 fps avg: 36 fps
very high: min: 18 fps max: 31 fps avg: 34 fps

    Dota 2:
Settings: everything maxed - 1920x1080px -- min: 55 fps max: 62 fps avg: 60fps (seems to be fps limit)

I hope the performance in Bioshock Infinite drastically improves in the near future. C'mon, driver updates!

Update: Glad to see the Bioshock scores improved after you changed the GPU-mode to only use the 8870 when charging, but I would like to see your results match oiram's 50fps-on-Ultra.

You're lucky, I own both of this games ;)

Will be back on 100 000 kbit/s DSL on saturday (for downloading the games), but hope to be able to download some further titles with dsl 6000 before. Actually I've got this games on my Computer, what should I test first?

    Unbenannt.PNG

Starcraft II is not listed, because it is non-steam. The same with SimCity

For Videos I would need a fraps account (or was the trial also able to capture videos up to 30s?) In Videos with which game would You be most interested in?

I also hope so. Will update my Post as soon as new official drivers are out via Samsung Software Update.

I am actually downloading Assassins Creed 3 and Anno 2070 - benchmark will follow tomorrow

    Also planned tomorrow:
    Starcraft II
    SimCity
Tomb Raider (don't know, whether download is fast enough for this)

Any further wishes? -> post them here

    other AAA-titles to test afterwards:
    Far Cry 3
    Hitman Absolution
    Sleeping Dogs
    GTA IV
    Risen 2
    Arma 3 Alpha
    CS: GO (Multiplayer)

Wow.. those Bioshock results are horrendous. :eek2: The new drivers can't get here soon enough!

EDIT: The lamest part is that AMD posted this on their website regarding BI, yet their drivers haven't even kept up with their newest GPUs:

I don't think, only 25fps in Starcraft 2 @full hd and medium are normal, aren't they?

After changing GPU-mode to always use 8870m when charging, I'm getting much better benchmarking results with Bioshock Infinite:

Bioshock Infinite (outdoors / indoors in game)
    Settings:
    Ultra - 1920x1080px -- min: 20 fps max: 28 fps avg: 25 fps
    High - 1920x1080px -- min: 30 fps max: 43 fps avg: 36fps
    Medium - 1600x900px -- min: 41fps max: 57 fps avg: 50fps

The strange thing is, that user oiram reports about 50fps ultra

    fraps log on ultra:

    Jup, that's really confusing.

Anyone else here, who can test Bioshock Infinte-Performance?

Also my SimCity-Performance is really bad:

    SimCity 2013:

    Settings:
    High + AA - 1920x1080px -- Min: 5 fps Max: 34fps Avg: 22 fps
Medium: Min: 4fps Max: 33 fps Avg: 21 fps
    Low: - 1600x900px -- Min: 9 fps Max: 38 fps Avg: 26fps
--> Really bad performance, my 620m had a better performance than this one

SHould this not be alot faster than the 650M with similiar CPU???? Is the "low" on the benchamrk due to drivers or is the 8870 more close to the 630/640 in performance?

It's performance normally is between the 650m and the 670m. SimCity and Starcraft II seem to be not supported well yet.

So I just purchased the chromos series 7 and saw this thread after realizing that I would rather have the 8870m instead of the 8770m. I have three questions now that I see this thread is pretty active.

1.) I realized the only place to buy the 8870m version is from samsungs website, my concern comes from it saying while it may come with the 8870 it quotes only 8G of RAM when I am looking for the advertised version with 16G of RAM? Any help on that im just really confused with this retail part?

2.) The GPU issues found between the 8770m and the integrated card, are these problems still prevalent with 8870m version?

3.) I know the power block being a 90W is barely enough for the 8770 version, do they fix this with the 8870 version?

any reply would be greatly appreciated. I mostly need help on where I can find the most advertised version of this PC that comes with 16G RAM and the 8870m and NOT the 8G RAM with 8770m or if I should wait for Samsung to figure out there and wait for a more updated version of the PC I want to buy? thank you for any help

Wherefor do You need 16 GB of RAM? You can easily upgrade the 8GB version to 12GB, when You want

I have a hypothesis that the chassis thermal design matches the 90W PSU. Most users don't want a notebook that sounds like a hair dryer. It is possible that the overall TDP results in CPU and GPU running below their maximum speed when both are loaded and there are some reports that this is happening.

I understand but the 16GB version was just the one I was expecting and hoping to find, you're right I could just upgrade the ram with 4GB stick but I was under the impression I would receive all16GB. I would just like to know of anyone else on here who has the 8870m version how you got it and does it have the GPU issues mine had between the intel card and the AMD?

The numbers you are getting are pretty similiar to what I'm getting with my best buy version with the 8770m ...I think it performs pretty darn well for a laptop..easily plays most games I want..darksiders 2 @ 45+fps in 1600x900 with mostly all high settings with vsync off ..nfs most wanted is around 30 fps but playable ..I think this thing will get a good boost with proper drivers ...I think these chronos are some of the best laptops out in the price range

Just started download of the 16GB. Should be ready in 21 minutes says Steam. So I think, benchmark should be ready in a good hour :)

Handschriftlich von meinem Note 2 gesendet

GTA IV-benchmarks are a bit difficult to understand:

all tested under same conditions (day, mission 2):

    GTA IV (day, mission 2)

    Settings:
    high + 4x AA (automatic settings) - 1920x1080px -- min: 24 fps max: 49 fps avg: 39 fps
    medium + 4x AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 20 fps max: 36 fps avg: 29 fps
    low + 2x AA - 1600x900px -- min: 19 fps max: 27 fps avg: 24 fps

--> Don't know, why high settings perform best, but also hope for better drivers here.

I'm going to sleep now (German Time), will investigate this further tomorrow. (together with benchmarking Max Payne 3)

GTA's integrated Benchmark confirmed the results I got within the game.

Will test other games now :)

Assassins Creed 3 really hast to fight with driver issues: 15 - 20 fps (Boston harbour) are really low

    You're lucky, that I bought this one month ago :D Just stopped the other downloads and startet CS:GO-download. ̶d̶̶o̶̶n̶'̶t̶̶ ̶̶k̶̶n̶̶o̶̶w̶̶,̶̶ ̶̶w̶̶h̶̶e̶̶t̶̶h̶̶e̶̶r̶̶ ̶̶i̶̶t̶̶ ̶̶w̶̶i̶̶l̶̶l̶̶ ̶̶b̶̶e̶̶ ̶̶r̶̶e̶̶a̶̶d̶̶y̶̶ ̶̶t̶̶o̶̶d̶̶a̶̶y̶̶.̶

Download should be ready in 4 min. Will post benchmark soon.

One other thing about gaming performance: After playing BF 3 campaign for 5 hours in train the 770z5e got really hot between the keyboard keys - can't confirm any fps-drops while this

Haha awesome :) CS GO isn't a large game, so it should be ready within an hour (depending on your internet speed). I'm speculating that fps should be extremely high, but I'll be waiting for your official test. Thanks!

Also hope so. I also think, FPS should be really high, but let's wait some further minutes.

After connecting the Notebook via Ethernet Cable to the 100k DSL-router download only needed 4 minutes, but before testing I want to complete the May Payne 3.download, where there are still 6GB's left. Will need another 9 minutes

    Counter Strike performs really well:

    Counter Strike: Global Offensive

Settings: Everything on high, 4x AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 76 fps max: 246 fps avg: 109 fps

This should even be enough for the Hardcore Gamers

edit: So it should be ecaxtly like the notebookcheck-benchmark: http://www.notebookcheck.com/Benchm...echnology=0&type=gpu_fullname&vertexshaders=0

That's all I needed, thanks! You're lucky that Samsung has released it in Germany so early... can't wait to get my hands on one in the US! I just wonder when it will come out...

So here's the Tomb Raider Benchmark (first chapter, in the cave):

    Tomb Raider (2013):

    Settings:
    medium - 1920x1080px -- min: 33 fps max: 62 fps avg: 46 fps
    high - 1920x1080px -- min: 25 fps max: 53 fps avg: 38 fps
    ultra - 1920x1080px -- min: 23 fps max: 32 fps avg: 27 fps

Is this enough or do You also wish fps scores from the integrated benchmark tool?

    And here's Dirt Showdown Benchmark:

    Dirt Showdown

    Settings:
medium, no AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 38 fps max: 55 fps avg: 45 fps
    high, 2x AA - 1920x1080px -- min: 24 fps max: 48 fps avg: 36 fps
very high: min: 18 fps max: 31 fps avg: 34 fps

For dota2, gtx660m under 1080p only has an avg fps of 45-50. Comparing 8870m with gtx660m's gaming performance( AMD Radeon HD 8870M - NotebookCheck.net Tech), in most cases, gtx660m has a slightly better fps. Consider dota2 is a non-graphics intensive game, I suppose I should get 60fps.

I don't know fps numbers, but I played Dota2 with my old HP dv9283ea, equipped with a Core 2 Duo and a Nvidia Geforce GO 7600, and had no lag
