Better wait for Ivy Bridge. It's now about 4-6 weeks away.

Sandy Bridge prices will go down too.

However, if you are in rush. Go ahead & purchase it. I don't own this but I used it & this is great.

Make sure you will buy NP700Z5A-S0AUS

S0BUS was also coming & was listed on samsung.com/us but now they have removed it. It had better sound & some issues were fixed.

Where is this info that Samsung will release Ivy Bridge versions of this laptop in 4-6 weeks?

I personally don't think we'll see a revised version of this until after summer.

First we need to see the Sandy Bridge versions disappearing from stock for a few weeks. However, the available info is that Intel will ramp up the IB production during Q2 and I would expect that to be followed by a gradual phasing in of IB notebooks. Given that IB's main features are lower power consumption and better integrated graphics performance, which aren't prime selling points of the NP700Z5A then it may well not be on Samsung's priority list.

Mostly laptops will come as soon as Intel will announce IB. So, maybe Laptop companies just hold due to some NDA with Intel. But it's confirmed that many Ivy Bridge laptops will come in market within week or two after IB launching.

See here for the latest info on the IB roll-out. This follows the earlier announcement by Intel that they will be ramping up production during Q2. I therefore expect to see a progressive arrival of IB models probably starting with those products where premium pricing can be charged. However, I may be wrong.

Well, either way there is nothing that states that Samsung is comming out with an upgraded Series 7 as soon as IB is released. It might take a while, or might even never.

Well, Samsung showed off their series 7 with ivy bridge at CES 2012, so I think that they will upgrade their line of series 7. On one of the other thread, someone said they called Samsung and that Samsung told him that the refresh is coming somewhere towards the end of June.
