How can I find if there are any BIOS update available for my model NP530U4C-S01IN - Samsung Series 5 ULTRA?
After reinstalling Windows 8.1, the SW update does not identify my model automatically and doesn't really help

Use the standalone BIOS Update program which you can download here.

It's also a safer way to do BIOS updating than through SW Update.

which BIOS are you using? (I'm using P14AAJ from 04/2013)

    Any problems with windows 8.1?

I'm still waiting for samsung to solve the bug in these laptops related to UEFI and Linux. (I asked 40 times for it's linux compatibility before buying the laptop)

I am on P14AAJ for sometime now. Laptop came with Windows 7 and I installed 8.1 2 weeks back.

So far no issues. I have never tried Linux on the laptop, only on Virtualbox

I got that same BIOS, it was released around 04/2013, more than a year ago.

I got three operating systems natively installed in this NP530-u4c s01-es , (windows 8 +two different linux distros) but all of them using BIOS, no UEFI.

There's a serious problem with these laptops if you try to install any linux distro using UEFI: you directly brick it, and the only solutions is replacing the whole motherboard (there's a lot of info around the web about this topic, it affects all S5, S7 and S9 models as far as I know).

(no problem in BIOS installs, virtualization etc...)

I haven't tried installing Linux on my laptop so can't say anything. But this seem to be a bad one. What happens if one tries to install Linux with UEFI enabled after his/her warranty period? Bad luck I guess.
