The head phone jack on my samsung laptop does not work properly, I have tried several headphones. I have to hold the headphone end a certain way when it's plugged into the laptop and it will work, if I just plug in the headphone into the laptop one one ear works.

If you have tried several headphones and made sure that you have pushed the plug completely into the socket then I suggest you approach Samsung support for a warranty repair.

This happened to me the 1st time too. It seems that the ports are too narrow and you have to push firmly to fully get the jack inside. For what you're saying, I assume your headphones are not properly connected, so try to apply more strength to get it deep inside.
