I've been reading this forum off and on for months (since before I took the plunge to buy, and ever since). I did a search but did not come up with the answers I was looking for. I also applied the color profiles per the advice early in the year to try and correct the display issues.

...so to my greatest annoyance about this machine: everything looks extremely washed out, like I'm looking at my display through a horrible skin embedded over it. This was particularly noticeable when I loaded a game side-by-side to my desktop. My first thought was that the notebook's display looked like an old Gameboy Advance display. No color depth whatsoever. No tweaking could seem to fix this.

Any advice? Any threads that I may have missed that could help? ...or is this just an issue I'll have to deal with?

    Thanks for any help!

right click your desktop, go to Graphics Properties, then the Intel settings will open up...
    Advanced Mode > OK
Under Display > General Settings, click Color Enhancement and probably try playing with the Saturation level. I havent messed with mine, but I think 8 looks pretty good, as long as you changed your Easy Settings 'display color' (under the Display tab) to No Effect, which removes a lot of the yellowness it has out of the box.

I would also try adjusting the contrast and gamma settings in the Intel control panel.

There is also Windows 7's calibrate tool which is meant to help in setting the display. However, I have had mixed results with it.
