Hi - I am torn about a pending purchase.

I would like someone to help me understand the difference between the Series 7 Chronos and this Asus laptop

    Asus 15.6" K53SC-SX451V - i7 2670QM/8GB/750GB NVIDIA GeForce GT520M: 90N8LC155H1A34VL133Y - Komplett.ie ? The internetshop in Ireland

If I am not too fussed about the screen and graphics, would the Asus be the more economical purchase? I will mainly use the laptoo for music recording.

Alternatively is it more economical to go for the s7 and spend an extra 500 euro? Is exlress cache and.switchable graphics the only basic difference?

Any help much appreciated - I am completely torn.

    Thank you.

Stay torn (just joking :p), then get a new notebook with Ivy Bridge and new gen GPU.

If you want to use the machine for music recording then you need to get something where users can confirm that there are no nasty latency spikes (as revealed by dpclat.exe or similar). There is a thread about latency on the Series 7.
