    Hi.

I have read a few reviews on the Hitachi HTS543232L9A300 HDD in the Q210 and it,s maximum transfer rate is supposed to be between 63-65mb,s , but i am only getting approx 59mb,s

I download the FDD and CD version of the Hitach Feature Tool and they Both Hang at the Same point as the Feature Tool is starting to load!

I had the same problem with my last laptop a Acer 20"

Also can anybody write a Floppy Disk in Vista, It keep saying write protect is on the disk!, so i wrote it on my P4 laptop using XP.

    Anybody had this problem before!

    I really want that 4-6mb,s :D

    Regards

    John.

Did you look in the Q210 BIOS to see if there are any options there.

I presume Samsung has AHCI enabled in the BIOS. Maybe this is tripping up Feature Tool. Can you disable AHCI, run Feature Tool from the CD then re-enable AHCI (otherwise Windows will BSOD)?

    Hi.

AHCI is set to auto in the BIOS, I selected manual and disabled it.

But Hitachi Feature Tool is still hanging at the same point!

    thanks for the help

    John.

Oh well. Perhaps Feature Tool needs to be updated.

I wouldn't lose sleep over getting those few extra MB/s out of the HDD. Does your "lost" performance apply across the whole disc or only at the fast end.

I am also trying to run the Hitachi Feature Tool and it hangs on my machine as well at the same point. I have a CLEVO M570TU based notebook. Were you able to run the Hitachi Feature tool? I want to run it to play with AAM. Are there any other tools that might do the trick?

Doesn't work on my R20 (SATA HD in IDE mode, AFAICT) either. Poking around in the ISO file, it seems to be based on IBM PC-DOS 7 from 1998?

That is quite an extreme solution for something that should be so simple. Unfortunately I don't have a desktop computer I can hook my HDD on.

    Hi.

Is there any specific reason you want to use the Feature tool.

    Regards

    John.
