They don't have RapidCharge like a couple of the ThinkPads so you won't see 80% in 30 minutes.

Im curious how long as well.

Also, what if you set your series 9 to 80% but you leave it plugged in for hours AFTER it hits 80%
Does it automatically cool/shut down? No worries of overheating/charging etc.??

I haven't tried timing the charging but a few basic calculations would show that charging with the computer on will take at least hours because it's a 40W PSU and the computer is likely to be using 15W so that's 2 hours minimum (60 x 0.8)/25 * charging efficiency. Charging with the computer off should be faster. A higher rated PSU may give faster charging but i don't know if one is available.

There is no need to worry about over-charging. Once the computer has reached 80% (if you have set that limit) then charging will stop and will not resume if the computer is left plugged into the mains power.

It can be set in the BIOS so Linux can benefit.

My NP900X3C went from 10% to 60 % in 1 Hour exactly and the laptop was on sleep while charging..
and another 10% while powered on in 12 minutes...
Hope that puts things in perspective !!

i've charged my NP900X4C twice, each time took ~ 2 hrs to 80%. although for some reason it feels like the charge was a bit faster the 2nd time for some reason.. not that i timed it with a stopwatch so my #s might be off.
