    Hi All,

    I have a Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C 15 inch laptop

The right hinge, that connects the LCD panel to the keyboard unit is broken. I have already ordered the replacement parts. A ton of vendors sell them online... which is seemingly good news for me

However, here is my dilemma. I cannot find a single place, including the Service Manual, that shows how to replace the hinge

I have also searched this forum as well as YouTube.

I figure it must be something that is doable, as so many vendors are selling these hinges. However, I am absolutely unable to find any help online

So, anything y'all could send my way in terms of information would be HIGHLY appreciated!!

    Warm Regards,

    TSG

P.S. Here are some of the vendors selling them online

    Hi Y'all,

Just as a quick follow-up. I know how to do a tear-down of the NP900X4C, so as to separate the keyboard unit from the screen unit. I used this guide

The issue is that I can find NO videos or manuals that show how the hinge itself can be replaced. A portion of the hinge is inside the LCD unit and there does not seem to be an obvious way to separate the panels there

    Thanks so much in advance!!

    Warm Regards,

    TSG

I think you have to prise off the display bezel which is glued on. Hope that Samsung didn't use some strong glue.

    John,

Many thanks for your reply. I have "surgery" tentatively scheduled for my laptop tomorrow. I will update everyone on this thread on how it went and the lessons that I learnt.

I will try to post some pictures too.

    Warm Regards,

    TSG

Any update on surgery? I will be trying the same on my Mom's Samsung Series 9 NP900X4C soon, part seems cheap on eBay and a local repair shop quoted $70 to fix.
