    Last year I bought a Samsung P50-Pro "Torrin". This notebook is
    powered by an Intel Core 2 T7200 processor, which supports Intel VT.

    Unfortunately, Samsung disables VT during BIOS startup and it can't
    be re-enabled by the operating system. For that reason, kvm and other
    hypervisors won't run at all or won't run with maximum performance.
    For example, kvm gives the error message: "KVM: disabled by BIOS".

    Apparently, the notebook's BIOS is prepared for Intel VT - you just
    can't enable this feature in BIOS setup. But Intel VT can be enabled
    by switching one bit in the non-volatile RAM (NVRAM).

    A good description on how to modify the NVRAM is given by
    bogart (http: //forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=189228)

    For my Samsung P50-Pro notebook with BIOS version 20XE the following
    line needed to be changed:

    (025b) [0000] ---> (025b) [0001]

    PS: The notebook must be switched off and back on after modifying
    the NVRAM - otherwise Intel VT won't be enabled.

    Hi,

    today the MS Windows 7 XP-Mode need also Intel-VT! So I spent a lot of time to activate this in BIOS for a Samsung P200-pro T8100 Bordoso (Firmware 04SO)

    (069c) [0000] ---> (069c) [0001]

    It seems quite easy if somebody said the .WPH has to be decompressed!
    Here I found the last hint (and the very best howto): http://www.linuxformat.gr/?q=conten...ualization-technology-vt-sony-vaio-laptop-and

    Best regards
    Chris

    I've just successfully activated VT on my X11 Pro Bios 22XI.

    Following lines needed to be changed:
    (0222) [0000] ---> (0222) [0001]
