Hi guys!
Please, please, help with this one!
I have bought a Samsung R60X002 last week and it came with windows vista home basic preinstalled. It's not that I don't like it, but I work with software that is simply incompatible with the Vista. So, after checking the availability of XP drivers for my R60 on the samsung web site I decided to install Windows XP home edition I bought 2 days ago for 90 bucks. I have downloaded all the XP drivers from the Samsung site and now I am trying to install them. All went OK so far, but when I tried to install the ATI graphics driver for the Xpress1250, upon executing the setup.exe file I get an error message saying that "Setup cannot proceed because the length of the specified directory path plus the installation folder name exceeds 88 characters. Please shorten one or both below the specified limit, and try again."
I have completely no idea what to do. And I just cannot stand the lucklustre performance of a new and for me very expensive computer.
Please guys smarter than me, help me fix this problem!
Thank you very much in advance, and looking forward to receiving your advice.

The full set of drivers and software etc for the R60plus is here. Use the menu bar for the software, BIOS, etc.
The ATI graphics driver is here.
Make sure you have first installed the ATI chipset driver.
If those still won't work, try the R20 driver from here.

Thanx a lot for replying! Thing is though, the first link is for x60plus and the following are for the r60plus, and mine is simply r60, without a plus. I'll try those too of course, but I've already downloaded the right drivers from the samsung site, specifically for r60, and the graphics just refuses to install, quoting that 88 characters length that was exceeded by the path etc.
So, problem not solved yet.

Oops, I didn't intend to point you to the X60plus drivers.
However, the bottom line is that you need any driver which is for the ATI 1250M and that includes the R20 and R40plus as well as the R60 / R60plus. This page covers both the R60 and R60plus. However, it doesn't clarify the difference between the two models and says that the R60plus may have either the ATI 1250M or the X2300.
Following the driver link on the above page I get to this driver (8.403) dated 24 October. That's yesterday so maybe there was a bug in the installer which is now fixed. Worth a try?

Ok, I am downloading the archive right now.
God, I really hope the update covered the error I get upon trying to install that driver.
Btw, my graphix is indeed ATI 1250M and not the more preferable but also more expensive x2300. -
I hope this helps, because I had the same problem, therefore I am not sure if this will resolve your problem although it did for me. -
Actually I did that in the first place, but I still got the same "misterious" message
But the problem was solved by downloading the newer version of the video driver.
Cheers!
I cannot install XP graphix driver on R60
