I purchased a X4C for a family member and it is having some intermittent cold boot issues. In a few cases, it hanged after the login screen and stayed stuck at "welcome" (animation kept going) or simply went to a black screen with the mouse but no further. Another time, it got stuck during the Windows logo animation. The issue does not appear upon restart.

Has anybody else noticed this behavior? Any thoughts on potential causes? A friend with an X3C is reporting similar problems.

I don't recall seeing other reports of this problem.

    1. Have you got the BIOS up-to-date ( run the BIOS update program which checks for, then installs if available, any update)?
    2. Run Easy Software Manager to check for driver / software updates.
    3. Look in Event Viewer > System Log just after one of the problem boots to see if any problems are reported.
    4. What non-Samsung software have you installed?
