    Hello-

Had a slightly used original Series 9 13" that I gave to a friend but now the power port is flaking out (physically loose) and they have to jiggle it around to make contact. The power jacks on these always seemed a bit flimsy to me, so it probably got yanked on the wrong way one too many times.

Anyway, I know these units have 3 year warranties. Is this something that would be repaired under warranty?

    Thanks!

Is the X3A power socket soldered onto a board and therefore vulnerable to damage? The X3B and newer have the power socket as a separate module connected with a short piece a cable. To avoid this possible problem which may be implicit recognition of a weakness in the original design. Anyway, one can argue that the power socket should be designed to accommodate a lot of mistreatment. If is is a problem then I would be pushing for it to be fixed under warranty.
