    Hi.

fancy region free on your Samsung TS-L633L DVD-RW

worked for me , do this at your own risk!!!

    firmware link below / TS-L633L_SC01_RPC1.zip

    http://forum.rpc1.org/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44504&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

flasher link below / runs in windows / find file Tsdnwin.exe

    http://samsungoms.com/eng/Firmware/FWDownload/FWDownload.asp?FunctionValue=view&no=300&SearchWord=&SearchMode=&PageNumber=18&product_code=&os_no=

Once you have flashed the firmware / you need to bypass vista`s own region system

disable region works with Vista below

Having the freedom to play the DVDs you want should not be illegal.

rpc1.org is a very good resource in this respect.

It is not illegal, but it is a measure to check/prohibit piracy....

    (Pertaining to R5 DVDs, etc)

You can just use AnyDVD by SlySoft www.slysoft.com to make it play any region without modifying your drives firmware.

    Thats what I use!

    Hi.

That software just decrypts the dvd encryption, it may also get round vista`s and xp`s region encryption, but it cannot override the dvd-rw`s built in region protection.

That can only be dont be disabling it as you can with liteon drive`s or re-flashing the with an all-region firmware.

    Regards

    John.

No it doesn't, It allows you to play any region DVD on your drive without physically changing the drive region setting or firmware.

    Hi.

It sounds amazing if it works, but i cannot see how, it can bypass the drives built in region protection.

    Regards

    John.

EDIT : AnyDVD is quite expensive at €49 or $66

    Hi.

    Hi.

did you use the Tsdnwin.exe -NOCHECK

this firmware is to make the TS-L633L region free, not to improve the writing, have you tried any other original firmware.

I have never had any problems writing dvd-r or dvd-rw on my TS-L633L , and i always use verify.

You maybe able to force the flash on your 633L , but you risk turning it into a paper weight.

    Regards

    John.
