This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Malware in the Samsung downloads

    FYI,

    One of my anti-virus tools indicated there is malware in some of the downloadable .EXE's on the Samsung download center. Specifically the FAQ for the Series 9 machines.

    If someone knows Samsung support personnel, you might have them check the files.

    Wasn't there a big false alarm last year caused by some AV product? Sometimes a benign file can contain a byte string of a known nastie and thus triggers an alert.

    If you can give us the link then we can test the suspect with more AV products.

    I scanned that file with NOD 32 and it didn't detect anything.

    Can others with different AV products also try it?
