    My laptop DOESN'T work...

    I have a Samsung laptop for 2 yrs, and recently when I leave it on for couple of hours, it stops operating... I tried to restart it, it only shows the background, mouse cannot work, no icons showed up, keyboard doesn't work...I tried to take up the battery, unplug everything except adaptor, still has the same problem...:cry: HELP!!! PLEASE!!!~ :notworthy:

    Which notebook, which CPU and does it have a dedicated GPU?

    If the computer stops after a couple of hours usage then I would suspect overheating. This can happen because the cooling system is clogged up with dust (see an example in this thread) and is more likely to happen quickly if the computer is used on soft surfaces such as bed-clothes.

    You can use HWmonitor to check the temperatures. Over 90C may trigger a shut-down in order to protect the hardware.
