I love my new Samsung laptop (R580-11), which has a 500GB HD and Intel Core i3 processor(2.26 GHz) with 4 GB RAM. Anyway, a nuisance with it is that when I type, the bottom of my right hand continually brushes on the mouse pad (which isn't between my hands like most laptops, but rather, directly underneath my right hand). Depending on where my mouse arrow is on the screen at the time, the computer will interpret my "brushing" action against the mousepad as a command, and will often redirect my work or do any number of arbitrary things to interrupt what I'm doing at the time.

Is there any way to change or alter this? It's a smart-mousepad of some kind, so maybe something can be changed to help me with this. I sure would appreciate it. I don't know if it's enough of a nuisance to make me want to change computers entirely, but it is a thorn in my side.

Your touchpad control panel should have options for sensitivity and "palmcheck". There may also be an option to disable the pad while you are typing.
