I'm having no luck getting anything that requires 1024x768 resolution to run.

I thought these netbooks had a screen scrolling feature on them for resolutions that were greater than the screen size?
(or even a way to downscale the resolution to fit on the panel.)

It renders certain application unusable as a result. The same application runs perfectly on other netbooks.

Anyone have any ideas, workarounds or inside knowledge that i might be missing some setting or key combo?

    You can use scrollable 1024x768,

Open properties on desktop > settings tab > advanced > monitor tab> clear box "hide modes this monitor cannot display" > click intel tab > graphics properties > display settings > select 1024x768

Can you elaborate on what you can't play on your scrollable 1024x768 Samsung NC10 scrollable screen and what happens?
I was about to purchase one thinking I could just select a scrollable 1024x768 screen resolution to open certain photo editing software which requires 1024x768.
When I try and open it on a screen that is 1024x600, I get a dialog box saying something like the minumum resolution needed to run this software is 1024x768. I am wondering if I would be able to run it on the samsung nc10. Did you get a message like that for any of the applications you were trying to run on the 1024x600 and what was the result when you tried to run those same applications on the 1024x768 scrollable?
    Thanks for any help here.

I was in a store the other day playing around on the netbooks, seeing which netbooks allowed a 1024x768 scrollable screen as a selectable option. I noticed the Samsung NC10 and a HP both did not while all the others did. I also noticed that under the display property settings, the display for the NC10 and HP were both titled,
"Plug and Play Monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 945 express chipset family"
However, for all the netbooks which had the 1024x768 as a selectable option as the highest resolution, under display, property, settings it said, "digital flat panel (1024x768) on Mobile Intel(R) 945 express chipset family" For all of these, the option was a standard option so you did NOT have to uncheck the box, "hide modes" as the display option was already there.

Possibly we could find a way to add the "digital flat panel (1024x768) on Mobile Intel(R) 945 express chipset family" option on the Samsung and it would be perfect for all apps that require the 1024x768. I don't know if it's a driver or a monitor configuration or what. Does anyone know the difference between the two?

I looked at the drivers for both the PC's that said "plug and play monitor" (Samsung NC10) (with no 1024x768 option) and the ones that said "flat pannel display" (with the 1024x768 option) and both had the had the same name and date for the drivers.

You can get 1024 x 768 to work by going to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor and deselecting "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display".

It may be that some manufacturers have done this in the default OS installation.

In additional, you can play with program named UMPCScrollBarXP,
it lets you scroll that apps, witch can not show bottom part.
