NC10 Power brick adds large chunk to size, and Case suggestions too...

Just got out of town and took my NC10 slipped in a Case Logic PLS9 with me. I was packing the power brick and bluetooth mouse that I realized it may not be as portable as it is. Has to do with the case design but wow, even without the mouse the brick was bulging out like a tumor or wart - it instantly added a massive chunk to the traveling size of the NC10. The long length of the power cord (the one separate from the brick) is partially to blame as imo it's longer than it needs to be by a mile.

Perhaps the LNEO10 would fare better but I'm a bit disappointed that the netbook isn't as travel friendly as I had hoped for. Can't post links but you can find both cases/sleeves on the Caselogic site.

    So in summary:
    - Case Logic PLS9 will get very cramp and tight with the power brick before adding a mouse to the equation (got a Rocketfish bluetooth "mac" mouse for it)
    - Don't think there will be a smaller power brick, but is there a shorter power cord to be found?
    - My netbook in travel form looks like a pregnant hippo

This may work for Europe: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13354 Edit: I just read this is not a good solution because it falls out.

Only $2 including shipping. I got my sleeve from Dealextreme. It took about 10 days.

PS. My powerbrick is very small though. It's the cord that's the problem.

Maybe, in time, Samsung will take note of the new slim PSUs that Dell introduced for the Latitude E series. The 65W PSU is little over 13mm / 1.2" thick but is much wider than a normal PSU. It is a lot easier to pack.

If you want a shorter mains lead then buy another one such as this, plus a spare power plug (with 3 Amp fuse). then cut the cable to the length you want and fit your own plug. personally, I appreciate plenty of cable length but don't like it too fat or heavy.

The real nuisance is the relatively fat and heavy UK mains plug. The plug on this cable doesn't look too fat and heavy, but if you fit your own then you can rummage through the available selection in the shops.

    I'm usin a Tucano Workout

Ok it was designed for a 13" Macbook but hey it does the job nicely and fits neatly in one of the pannier lids on my bike :)

Whats nice is the pop out 'sporran' for the power supply (which I dont always take with me) and as you can see my mouse nestles nicely inside as well (actually if you coil the power supply up carefully it sits on the top edge of Sammy however I've left the plug hanging out when I've done this.

It would be nice if they would make a travel charger like this for the NC10.

This travel bag may be interesting.

Given the potentially big market perhaps someone will oblige. However, the shape of that charger (box with pins sticking out) is quite awkward for packing. I would prefer a superslim unit (like this for the Dell E series - it's the one under the phone) with separate mains lead (perhaps short) and plug.
