hi guys, been reading the threads but not getting much details on this problem.
bought my nc10 a few days back and had the usual play about with it, it got a few trojans since i hadnt set mcafree on it properly, so i thought i'd do a full reinstallation and then maybe clear out the recovery partion and make a new back up too ( having not read the instructions properly the 1st time and being stuck with 2 70gb partitions)
so long story short i messed up and ended up deleting all the partitions (hidden recovery included) and after a extensive ggogle search, can not find a method of making a recovery drive again.
i left enough space for a recovery drive, but the SRS II software wont install when there is no recovery area.
is there anyway to recreate or assign a recovery area again?
hoping someone can help, otherwise its time to buy a norton ghost lisence again![]()

My only suggestion is to try pressing either F4 or F8 at the BIOS splash screen and see whether either gets you into the BIOS-level recovery software and includes an option to recreate that partition.
Otherwise send an email to Samsung support via their messaging system (on the FAQ page of their website).

You need to somehow create an EISA partition but I get the feeling that's not as easy as it sounds :-(

I done the exact same thing and deleted my recovery partition. I contacted Samsung and they told me I would have to pay to get the recovery partition put back on.

but isn't the recovery partition just waste of harddisk space?
I connect a external dvddrive when i wanna install windows -
Yeah, it's all in how you look at it.
The N120 doesn't even come with a recovery CD/DVD. It only has a DVD with some drivers.

It probably is until you need it to do a quick restore. Though I personally prefer the Samsung Recovery II software with a full backup. I did this once I got my computer totally setup. 15 minutes to totally recover and never skips a beat! I've used it to switch between Win 7 and Win XP a couple of times just as a test. Works GREAT!
Though I also have a primary backup which is my Windows Home Server.
