Hi there, first visit to the forum.
I have a Samsung NP-Q35 notepad which is 4 years old now but been a great laptop, recently it has been shutting itself down after 5 or 10 minutes, I think it could be something to do with the fan as we live in a hot country and it is Summer here, any ideas what I can do to fix this, maybe taking back off and blow out with airline, I'm not sure.
Thanks in advance,
N.S

You can buy a cooler/fan from amazon

At 4 years old the cooling system is quite likely clogged with fluff which gets blown against the grille on the heatsink but can't get through. If this has happened then you won't feel much air coming out of the exhaust vent. This photo (from a thread about the X20 fan) shows what can happen.
Ideally, to clean the cooling system you need to get the bottom off the computer. However, Samsung don't provide disassembly instructions so you are on your own. You can, however, try looking under the keyboard to see if the fan is accessible. Otherwise it is a matter of sucking / blowing / poking and fishing for the fluff. I would start by making a hook from some wire that's small enough to pass between the fins on the heatsink and see if it is possible to pull the fluff out.
You can also undervolt the CPU by following the undervolting guide. This will probably drop the maximum CPU temperature by about 10C.
