    Hello,

About a year ago I purchased a Samsung NP355V4C laptop from Future Shop with the Product Service Plan (PSP). A few months ago I began having problems with charging. The power and charging lights would blink one at a time, back and forth (blue and orange), while the laptop would not charge even though it was plugged in. This happens more often while playing demanding games, though it seems to happen fairly randomly. Sometimes instead of the alternating lights, the charging light would just blink on and off and constantly switch between battery mode and plugged in.

I took the laptop in to Future Shop for repairs and explained the problem, they sent it off, and I got it back with a replacement battery. Supposedly it was a problem with the battery (multiple chargers were tested too, that wasn't the problem). About a month later, the problem returned, so I took it back to Future Shop for advice, but did not send it out. Instead I tried to do a bit of research on it and reinstalled windows, which did not help. I decided to give the Samsung repair a try, so I sent it off to them and got it back 3 weeks later. The completion report was mostly blank, only stating a component was replaced (didn't say which component, but there was a sticker on the battery, which likely means it was replaced again). The computer was also wiped clean.

As of today, 2 weeks after getting my laptop back from Samsung, the problem has returned yet again. The problem cannot be the charger, it cannot be the battery, and it is very unlikely a software problem, so what could be causing this? Could the part of the motherboard the battery connects to be faulty and possibly damaging the batteries? I am at a loss to what the cause of this problem could be, so if anyone has experienced this or knows anything about it, please let me know.

    Thanks.

I would suspect something between the power socket and the battery. There are the electronics that manage the charging and discharging. This may be on the mainboard or on a separate small board. Whichever it is needs to be replaced as part of troubleshooting.
