    NP503U3C ssd setup?

    Just installed a ssd on my NP503U3C ,anything I should do in the software side of it? Thanx

    If you did a clean install of Windows then you need to install the Samsung (Easy) Settings program.

    Just make sure you don't install ExpressCache, since this "real" SSD is faster than the iSSD used by ExpressCache. If you cloned your installation from the original HDD, make sure to uninstall ExpressCache using the Windows Programs and Features control panel.

    If you are only about to do your Windows installation, then make sure you have the right UEFI settings and matching install media. It depends on whether your laptop came with Win7 or Win8.x originally.

    On your model (because of that pesky ExpressCache iSSD) it is far easier to install from DVD than from a USB flash drive. If you MUST install from USB, use the workarounds in post #1 or #2 in this thread. There is a general Windows install guide covering all (or most) Samsung models in post #40 of that thread.

    Thanx guys, done a clean 7 installation and installed EASY SETTINGS and all samsung drivers from their website but excluded the ExspressCache software.

    Thank you for the update. You will generally find newer drivers and utilities with SW Update. Samsung stopped posting those on its web site quite some time ago.

    OTOH, if it works well, a case can be made not to change it ;)
